ananGetting started
Anan is a personal agent that runs on your phone. Add a model provider, enter your own API key, and choose a model to start a conversation. You do not need to set up an Anan server.
The app is still in development. Download information will appear on the homepage when a release is available. Website demonstrations use sample data and do not perform real actions.
Connection or model problems
Check the provider address, API key, model selection, and network connection. Your provider may also require an active account, available credit, or access to the selected model. Anan does not issue API keys or manage provider billing.
If a request fails, keep the error message and note which provider and model you used. Remove keys and private conversation content before sharing a screenshot or diagnostic file.
Phone tools and permissions
Available tools depend on your device, system version, and the app version. Allow only the access you want to use. You can review connected capabilities in Anan’s settings and change system permissions in iOS Settings; Health access is managed in the Health app.
Local-first does not mean every request stays offline. Results from tools you use can become part of the conversation sent to your selected model provider. Read the privacy policy before working with sensitive information.
Removing data
Use the app’s data controls to clear conversations or reset Anan. In the current development version, these controls are under Settings → Debug. A full reset removes local app data, preferences, and stored model credentials; clearing conversations alone does not remove every other data category.
Uninstalling the app may leave credentials in the system Keychain. Use the app’s reset controls before uninstalling if you want to remove stored keys. Deleting local data does not delete copies held by a model provider or in existing device backups.
Reporting a problem
When contact details are available, send the app version, iOS version, device model, steps to reproduce the issue, and any relevant error message. Share only the information needed to understand the problem. Never send an API key.
